Do you feel called to help young people reach their God-given potential?
If you have the character and skill to lead a team who works with young people in South Abingdon, then here are the details:
We want to reach out to the community of South Abingdon. This area has some real contrasts – million pound houses are a stone’s throw from one of the top 20% most deprived areas in the country where nearly 1/3 of children live in poverty.
In partnership with Abingdon Community Church, we’re establishing a new Thrive team, to reach these young people. We already have a youth worker on the ground and there is a team of prospective volunteers eager to get started.
You’ll need a background of working with young people combined with a desire to lead a team of volunteers and a youth worker.
You’ll have a passion for mission – in word and action – and a faith that fuels your service of others.
Because the heart of what we do is relationship building and because change takes time, we’ll ask the successful candidate to commit to the community for at least 5 years.
