If you have senior level drug and alcohol experience and the skills to line manage our Drug and Alcohol Support Workers across Scotland, you could make a significant impact as an Operational and Development Manager (Drug and Alcohol). 

£33,281 pa

Minimum 35 hours per week

Based: University of Stirling

3 Years Fixed Term Contract

The Scotland Drug and Alcohol Strategy works in partnership with The Salvation Army Homelessness Services Unit and aims to provide an integrated mission focused service to those with a drug and/or alcohol misuse issue. This is achieved through a partnership approach and delivered locally by dedicated Drug and Alcohol Support Workers within Corps (Church) based community programmes.

As the Operational and Development Manager you will have overall operational responsibility for the ongoing implementation and development of the strategy and will provide regular professional line management and support to the designated Drug and Alcohol Support Workers across Scotland. You will also assist in the overall development of new services as identified by strategy councils. In addition you will be required to ensure that all contractual obligations are met and that the operational aspects of the strategy run smoothly and within the mission and core values of the Salvation Army.

To succeed, you will need:

  • A relevant professional Qualification
  • Management/supervisory experience in a Drug & Alcohol setting 
  • Knowledge of legislation relating to addiction, homelessness, health and safety and Safeguarding/protection of Vulnerable Adults.  
  • To be a practicing Christian with a live Church connection.
