PURPOSE OF ROLE

To produce high-quality breakfast show programming and to ensure good co-ordination of feature projects across the schedule, in order to build and keep audience. To coordinate cross-schedule editorial programming and hands-on production of features.

KEY TASKS

Cross platform editorial (3 hours per week)

Oversee the streamlining of guests from Premier Christian Radio to and from other platforms. Source content for digital purposes.

  • Liaise regularly with Editors of other platforms (including news, magazines digital and video), contributing to the development of cross platform editorial strands and oversee the execution of agreed plans, including any monthly/weekly themes or campaign programming.

Producer, Inspirational Breakfast (25 hours per week)

Assist in audience growth and hours

  • Oversee the direction and production of Inspirational Breakfast are directed which may include booking key guests and script writing.
  • Provide feedback to the Station Director.

Oversee regional content production (1 hour per week)

Regional impact based on agreed number of stories per month.

  • Manage the work of Content Producers and interns working across radio, including meeting with them regularly for feedback, liaising with Station Director when necessary.

Meetings (5.5 hours per week)

  • Attend various meetings as applicable including daily editorial;, meetings with line manager and weekly forward planning meeting

Other

  • To ensure that Premier’s commitment to quality and equality in both dealing with members of staff and the general public is delivered at all times.
  • To ensure that Company’s health & safety & data protection policies are adhered and practiced at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in communication.
  • Broad understanding of the Church and related issues.
  • Experience in radio or media environment.
  • Experience in creating engaging and desirable digital content
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Photoshop and other regularly used applications.
  • Excellent team working skills.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills, written, oral and public speaking.
  • Good broadcasting voice.
  • Excellent negotiation skills combined with flexibility.
  • Proven administration, multi-tasking, and prioritising and organisational skills.
  • Able to work under pressure & good time keeping

PERSONAL QUALITIES

  • High level of commitment and dedication.
  • The post holder will work in a Christian environment, therefore it will be necessary for the post-holder to have respect for the Christian faith, its values and be in sympathy with our organisational aims.

HOURS OF WORK: Full-time 7.00am – 15.00pm 

CONTRACT: 8 month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

REPORTING TO: Programme Director

SALARY: £30,000 pa circa, depending on skills and experience
