Directly responsible to the Head of Business, this position will help to develop and implement the strategic fundraising and public relations required to ensure sufficient voluntary income is achieved. This will contribute to the ongoing expansion and development of the ministry of Lee Abbey Devon which is financially supported by donations. The individual will provide the necessary skills to deliver fundraising activity across a broad range of direct marketing, online fundraising, trusts, corporate supporters and fundraising events, whilst also bringing an ability to tell the current Lee Abbey Story to both donors and the press.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Working with the Head of Business to develop and implement an appropriate fundraising strategy
  • The identification and application of trust funding for specific projects and the subsequent reporting requirements where successful
  • Develop corporate support through effective partnerships including opportunities such as match funding and advocating on Lee Abbey’s behalf for donor support
  • Maintaining relationship with individual donors, giving regular updates to donors on project progression appropriately
  • Provide in-house journalism support to the publicity team for press releases to increase awareness of the ministry of Lee Abbey Devon
  • Continuous development of fundraising programmes that individuals, and community members can join with such as ‘sponsored runs’, ‘Amazon Smile’, ‘Facebook Donate’
  • Achieving fundraising targets set by the Head of Business
  • Work in collaboration with the wider Lee Abbey Movement (Friends, London, SMC’s)

The role of Fundraiser will be just one part of your life here. You will also take an active role in worship, creative and serving aspects of Community life. The position is residential with appropriate allowance, accommodation (suitable for single person) and full board provided.
