Job description

To be considered for the position of Nursery Nurse/Room Leader you will need to:

  • Preferable be a holder of a full and relevant Level 3 Childcare qualification, or are currently doing a level 3 childcare course
  • have good working knowledge of the EYFS including the Welfare Requirements and have key worker experience,
  • be caring, friendly, hard working and have a positive can-do attitude,
  • have gained at least two years experience within a nursery/ childcare setting
  • have proven organisational skills through various personal and professional activities,
  • be able to communicate and build up a trusting relationship with the children and staff,
  • have at least 4 years of working history to track references,
  • have good organisational, record keeping and planning skills
  • be able to provide a recent CRB/DBS report

In addition, you’ll need to be flexible and creative, with the commitment to provide first class childcare.

As a Nursery Nurse you are a key member of the early years’ team responsible for delivering high quality care and learning opportunities for children, based on the needs and interests of those children. We are also seeking to employ a practitioner with great enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.

Some of your duties will include: -

  • Promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues
  • Ensuring health, safety and wellbeing of the children in a home-like environment
  • Supporting the children’s development, learning and play
  • Being a key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families according to the EYFS
  • Planning, organise and implement a programme of activities to meet the needs of this age group
  • Working as part of a highly motivated and professional team
