The Harnhill Centre was founded in 1986 by a local clergyman, Canon Arthur Dodds, who had a passion for the Christian healing ministry. Based in a Cotswold Manor House and beautiful grounds, it is situated in the small hamlet of Harnhill about four miles from Cirencester, surrounded by open countryside.
'The Harnhill Centre of Christian Healing’ is a registered charity. Under the guidance of the Trustees, the staff team is led by a Director and works alongside dedicated volunteers. In addition to the ministry team, we employ full time administrative staff, a full time and part time chef, a full-time facilities manager and housekeeper and part time cleaning staff, head gardener and accountant.
The Harnhill Centre is built upon a strong community, both residential and non-residential, who are committed to ministering to those in need of healing. The ministry is based on the model of the Circle of God’s Love and the four areas of Brokenness. Ministry at the Centre is wide ranging with conferences, teaching days and residential and non-residential ministry. Two public healing services are held each week in our Barn and two services of nighttime prayer (Compline) in Harnhill Parish Church. Worship and prayer underpin every activity through the week. The Manor has 20 beds and ancillary support for residential accommodation. All rooms are ensuite.
The accommodation available on site for the successful applicant is part of the converted farm and ancillary buildings. It is worth noting that at this point the communal style of living would not suit anyone with dependents who live with them. It is also worth noting the Centre is four miles outside Cirencester and public transport is severely limited. Own transport would be advisable.
The remuneration package includes salary, accommodation, utilities, basic household insurance and 31 days leave inclusive of Bank Holidays. Time off normally works out as one full weekend (Friday lunchtime to Monday morning) each fortnight, and a Monday off when a weekend has been worked. Residential team also have one evening off during the working week.
Although living in separate accommodation, the residential community worship together daily, eat in community with guests or together (unless off duty), plan, play and pray together. The residential team also wash up after meals, lay tables, take duty turns and generally do all that is necessary to keep the Centre running and especially if key staff are sick or on holiday. Flexibility and humour are key character traits!
The main focus of the Residential Ministry Team is prayer ministry and support of our guests. Previous experience in prayer ministry for new members of the team is an advantage, but training will be provided. Depending on areas of gifting, Ministry Team also take an active role in teaching and leading worship activities and are given opportunities to develop in these areas.
We are looking for mature Christians involved in their church fellowship who:
